Paul Hastings

In 2016, Paul Hastings LLP moved to a new office space in the MetLife Building in Midtown Manhattan. Prior to their move, they conducted an in-depth energy and financial analysis to develop an innovative design that balanced form, function, and sustainability. The results are a more efficient, collaborative workspace that now has a 16% smaller footprint and a 23% reduction in energy use.

Rudin

Rudin, one of the leading commercial and residential real estate management and development firms in New York, developed an energy action plan and identified several options for energy saving measures in the construction and design its newly redesigned space. As a result of implementing those measures, Rudin is experiencing an estimated 20% in energy savings compared to its pre-existing use baseline.

When UTC, a global technology company, opened a new office in Brooklyn’s DUMBO neighborhood, they leveraged the Commercial Tenant Program to allow expanded energy modeling during the design phase. UTC was able to perform a deeper evaluation and analysis that led to a better design and construction of an even more efficient space. UTC shared their experience with the program during an interview with NYSERDA.

White & Case, an international law firm based in New York City, developed an energy efficiency model for their new office space at 1221 Avenue of the Americas. The model allowed White & Case to provide a convincing proposal to building management to make improvements, which resulted in significant energy savings.
