Focus Area: Clean Transportation
New York State has aggressive regulations pushing toward 100% of new light-duty vehicle sales being zero emission vehicles by 2035 and 100% of new medium- and heavy-duty sales being zero emission vehicles by 2045. Achieving these goals will help make the transportation sector, which today generates about one-third of greenhouse gas emissions in New York, much cleaner. Innovation@NYSERDA's Clean Transportation focus area helps innovators turn ideas for cleaner fuels and improved mobility into market-ready solutions.
The program focuses on introducing and demonstrating products and services that enhance public transit, zero-emission vehicles, and smart mobility to increase use of electric vehicles and low-carbon transportation options. Clean Transportation seeks to improve transportation options in underserved communities across New York State to improve mobility and lower emissions.
