REV Campus Challenge
Technical Assistance for Roadmaps

REV Campus Challenge members can get support through NYSERDA's Roadmaps Technical Assistance program to kick-start their campus clean energy efforts. Under the program, NYSERDA enables REV Campus Challenge members to partner with an energy consultant to gain greater understanding of campus energy usage, culminating in the development of a comprehensive plan, or "Roadmap" for managing and reducing on-campus energy.

How It Works

NYSERDA will provide financial support to REV Campus Challenge members to assist with hiring a third-party energy consultant to evaluate existing campus energy conditions and establish a Roadmap for managing changing campus energy needs.

Financial support will vary, depending on the cost of the technical assistance:

  • For projects with scope of work budgets less than or equal to $10,000, NYSERDA will pay 100% of the eligible energy consultant costs.
  • For projects with scope of work budgets greater than $10,000, NYSERDA cost-sharing will vary based on the type and cost of assistance being sought.
  • Funding is capped at $150,000 per REV Campus Challenge member. A bonus of up to $4,000 can be applied to fund the cost of using a student intern to assist in the completion of the Roadmap. The student intern bonus can be applied in addition to the $150,000 funding cap (i.e. a total funding cap of $154,000, if applicable).

Applicants may use their own energy consultant, or may choose from NYSERDA’s list of FlexTech Consultants. Learn more about FlexTech and view the current list of FlexTech Consultants.

NYSERDA encourages collaboration between REV Campus Challenge members and promotes student involvement. Additional funding may be available for student interns.
