New York’s Southern Tier: a vibrant clean energy hub in the Northeast
New York State is a great place to headquarter a clean energy startup – it puts your business at the nexus of policy, people, and partnerships.
Spanning 8 counties, the area covered by 76West is home to Cornell University, Binghamton University, Ithaca College, and other top colleges, think tanks, incubators, and national companies. Dozens of innovators – from the makers of the touchscreens found in billions of mobile devices, to one of the country’s leading Greek yogurt producers – call the Southern Tier their home and office.
Where is the Southern Tier?
New York State is home to the most aggressive clean energy and climate agenda in the country. In 2019, New York passed the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (Climate Act), which empowers every New Yorker to fight climate change at home, at work, and in their communities. It's this blend of policy, talent, and technology that is drawing investors and businesses to the Southern Tier.
We invite clean energy startups from other countries, states, and all regions of New York to apply to 76West to become a part of this thriving, regional community.
