On June 2, 2017, NYSERDA issued its 2017 Renewable Energy Standard Request for Proposals (RESRFP17-1). It was the first request for proposals under the Clean Energy Standard.
Results by Region
Learn more about NYSERDA’s historic RFP:
RESRFP17-1 resulted in 26 agreements to develop 1,383 MW of new, clean energy capacity throughout New York State. The total funding committed through RESRFP17-1 is approximately $1.4 billion, and the weighted average price for these contracts was $21.71 for each Tier 1 REC.
The successful proposals include a hydroelectric project, three wind projects (including one with energy storage), and several solar projects.
Capital Region
Five solar projects:
- Columbia Solar 1 in Columbia County
- Darby Solar in Washington County
- Flint Mine Solar in Greene County
- Greene County Energy Properties in Greene County
- Pattersonville in Schenectady County
Central New York
Two solar projects:
- Janis Solar in Cortland County
- Sky High Solar in Onondaga County
Finger Lakes
One solar project:
- Java Solar Energy Center in Wyoming County
Mid-Hudson
Four solar projects:
- Blue Stone Solar in Ulster County
- Daybreak Solar in Ulster County
- Little Pond Solar in Orange County
- Magruder Solar in Ulster County
Mohawk Valley
Seven solar projects:
- Double Lock Solar in Montgomery County
- East Point Energy Center in Schoharie County
- Grissom Solar in Fulton County
- High River Energy Center in Montgomery County
- Rock District Solar in Schoharie County
- Sunny Knoll Solar in Schoharie County
- Tayandenega Solar in Montgomery County
North Country
One hydroelectric project:
- Lyons Falls Mill Redevelopment in Lewis County
Southern Tier
Three solar projects, two wind projects, one with energy storage:
- Baron Winds in Steuben County
- Bluestone Wind (with energy storage) in Broome County
- Branscomb Solar in Tioga County
- Puckett Solar in Chenango County
- Regan Solar in Chenango County
Western New York
One wind project spanning two counties:
- Alle-Catt Wind in Allegany and Cattaraugus County
