2021 Solicitation

NYSERDA's fifth annual request for proposals under the Clean Energy Standard, RESRFP21-1 Link opens in new window - close new window to return to this page. , was issued on April 22, 2021 and resulted in awards for 22 solar projects, including six with energy storage to develop 2,408 megawatts of new, renewable energy capacity throughout New York State. The agreements will also support the development of 159 megawatts of utility-scale energy storage. These awards constitute enough megawatts of new renewable capacity to power over 600,000 households.

The State's investment in these new land-based renewables projects is expected to spur over $2.7 billion of direct private investment. Total project costs, including a cost-effective weighted average all-in development cost of $63.08 per megawatt-hour, will result in an average bill impact for customers of approximately $0.13 per month. These awards continue to support the achievement of New York’s nation leading goal of generating 70% of New York’s electricity from renewable sources by 2030, consistent with the Climate Leadership and Community Benefit Act.
