How long does a RTEM system installation take?
The duration of a RTEM system installation is unique to each project/system and should be discussed with your RTEM vendor. While the duration is site specific, they typically average between three to six months. Key factors of the installation duration include:
- Project scope
- Site access
- Access to the building’s network infrastructure and equipment integration protocols
- Coordination and communication with your qualified RTEM vendor
All projects submitted to the NYSERDA RTEM program must be installed and commissioned within six months of project approval.
What do I need to have in place for a RTEM system?
If you have a building management system (BMS) that is in need of an upgrade or replacement, this is a great time to consider upgrading to a RTEM system. RTEM solutions are also available to buildings that do not currently have a BMS.
How often does a RTEM system need to be updated?
RTEM systems do not require any manual updates. Since they are cloud-based, these systems are automatically and continuously updated. This ensures you are using the latest software, without your employees having to manually keep it up-to-date.
What is the average useful life of a RTEM system?
The average useful life of a RTEM system is around 16 years.
How much can I save with a RTEM system?
Typically, businesses can save up to 10 percent to 20 percent a year on energy costs. Energy savings depend on baseline energy consumption, fuel type, existing site conditions, building type and use, and occupancy rates.
