Clean Heating and Cooling

thumbnail for RHC Framework Policy

Heating and cooling in buildings represent 32% of New York State’s combustion-related greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. In support of the State’s nation-leading GHG emissions reduction goals – targeting 40% reduction of GHG emissions by 2030 and 80% by 2050 – NYSERDA has developed an integrated, long-term Policy Framework [PDF] to encourage the adoption of renewable, clean heating and cooling technologies (e.g., ground- and air- source heat pump systems, and solar hot water systems).
