NYSERDA addresses Research, Development and Demonstration needs associated with emerging distributed generation technologies as part of their Power Systems program. The program undertakes projects designed to improve technology performance and reduce non-technical impediments and regulatory barriers to the widespread deployment of these new technologies.
NYSERDA’s Power systems partners work on projects including electricity power storage, interface technologies that supply the electricity grid, and supplying industrial loads with reliable, high quality power.
Battery Energy Storage Systems – Technologies (B.E.S.S. Technologies) LLC
BESS-Technologies’ mission is to improve the storage systems of battery assemblers and manufacturers, providing them with high-performing component systems. Our first product is a silicon-based nano-engineered anode technology to be sued in lithium-ion battery systems. Our design offers 3 times the energy capacity of graphite anodes, 5 times the charging rate, and more than 1000 cycles of lifetime. Our technology if fabricated using a simple manufacturing process, largely used by the semiconductor and photovoltaic industries and proven to provide cost reductions that will enable assemblers to increase their profit margins while providing their customers with a product with better performance.
