The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) has $15 million of incentives available to support economic development projects across New York State for projects that are regionally significant and designed to net zero energy or carbon neutral performance. Economic Development Projects that are regionally significant are aligned with the goals of the Regional Economic Development Council’s
Strategic Plan or other State priorities.
NYSERDA’s Net Zero Energy for Economic Development program supports projects in two categories:
Category A: Net Zero Facitilites
This category supports the design and construction of net zero performance at the facility level, supporting building-specific measures for efficiency, renewable energy, storage and electric vehicle charging infrastructure. The program is open to existing and new construction buildings to achieve net zero energy or carbon neutral performance.
Category B: Net Zero Communities
Projects in this category supports net zero performance at the community level, including community-scale development, campuses, or large-scale private development projects. The program is geared to expand community and portfolio-based planning services; and spur large-scale projects to achieve net zero energy or carbon neutral performance.
