White Papers

  • Brookhaven National Lab
The Distributed Energy Resources Customer Adoption Model (DER-CAM) is an economic and environmental model of customer DER adoption. This model has been in development at Lawrence Berkeley National Lab since 2000. The objective of the model is to minimize the cost of operating on-site generation and combined heat and power (CHP) systems, either for individual customer sites or a microgrid. For assistance in using the DER-CAM model, contact Robert J. Lofaro, PE Group Leader, Renewable Energy Group Sustainable Energy Technologies Department Brookhaven National Laboratory:

  • Clean Energy Group’s Resilient Power Project
This project has identified financing tools that can be used to implement projects that will attract private capital on highly favorable terms, thereby reducing the cost of solar and resilient power installations.
  • Community Microgrid Overview
The Pace Energy and Climate Center’s mission is to protect the earth’s environment through solutions that transform the ways society supplies and consumes energy so as to mitigate climate change, minimize pollution, and enhance society’s resilience against unavoidable climate change.
  • Microgrid Institute
Microgrid Institute is a collaborative organization that focuses on key issues affecting microgrids and distributed energy assets around the world. Efforts address market development and analysis, regulatory and financial models, and project feasibility and structuring.
  • Microgrid Resources Coalition
The Microgrid Resources Coalition is a consortium of leading microgrid owners, operators, developers, suppliers, and investors.
  • Performance Excellence in Electricity Renewable (PEER™) Program
Performance Excellence in Electricity Renewable (PEER™) Program The PEER Program is the driving force behind the vision to transform the way power systems are regulated, designed and operated. Modeled after the Leadership in Environment and Energy Design (LEED) program for buildings, PEER is the nation’s first comprehensive, consumer-centric, data-driven system for evaluating power system performance.
