  • Produce 70% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030
  • Reach zero carbon emissions in the electricity sector by 2040
  • Install 9 gigawatts of offshore wind by 2035
  • Install 6 gigawatts of solar by 2025
  • Install 3 gigawatts of energy storage by 2030

Additionally, the law creates the Climate Action Council comprised of the leaders of various state agencies and authorities as well as legislative appointments to develop a plan outlining how the state will achieve an 85% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions from 1990 levels by 2050 and eventually net zero emissions in all sectors of the economy. 

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking a qualified and motivated Office Manager to work with and support the Communications, Marketing and Events team.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist with the efficient day-to-day operation of the department as the central "hub" of the team by answering informational requests and phones
  • Be responsible for robust calendar management requiring interaction with both internal and external executives and staff to coordinate a variety of meetings and webinars, prepare meeting materials, room scheduling, set-up, and videoconferencing with remote offices
  • Run assigned reports and calendars per required frequencies
  • Copy, scan, file, and distribute documents
  • Input of any required reporting including contract information, procurement requests and expenses
  • NEIS tasks as assigned, including but not limited to, approving requisitions and supporting NEIS routing and approval process
  • Coordinate and schedule travel, conference participation, collateral, gathering and staging materials for events, and securing NYSERDA fleet vehicles
  • Monitor the intake and progress of event and speaker requests through the Cvent Events Management system and the Events Team’s email inbox
  • Assist with the distribution of press releases to media lists
  • Serve as back-up for Marketing on logo requests, print requests and lobby materials updates as needed
  • Act as a liaison with internal departments including but not limited to Contracts, Finance, Legal, and the President’s office
  • Maintain the team’s SharePoint pages and Confluence guidance documents as needed
  • Perform other responsibilities as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5 years of administrative support experience
  • An Associate’s degree; a Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • 9 years of administrative support experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • Proven ability to successfully handle multiple projects simultaneously, anticipate needs in advance, plan ahead, and work independently
  • A strong work ethic with the ability to perform under extreme pressure and tight deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy in task execution and deliverables
  • Ability to prioritize tasks through to completion including seeking direction on shifting priorities as needed
  • Takes ownership of tasks, projects and relationships and follows through on obligations and promises
  • Ability to work without supervision; self-starter capable of working under limited supervision as well as taking on new and unfamiliar tasks as needed while working effectively in a dynamic, fluid and fast-paced organization
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Excellent time management skills and written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive information in a professional, confidential manner
  • Experience with researching and sourcing information
  • Proven ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff as well as outside stakeholders and vendors
