Work History
Frances Resheske is an accomplished leader and strategic thinker with expertise in regulatory and political strategies and negotiations, reputation management, brand positioning and marketing, customer, stakeholder and activist perspectives, media relations and communications. She has extensive crisis management experience. Frances led the creation of the company’s Clean Energy commitment with a primary focus on accelerating the transition on behalf of customers.
Most recently, Frances served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Affairs at Con Edison, a New York City-based Fortune 500 and one of the nation’s largest investor-owned energy delivery companies with approximately $14 billion in annual revenues and $65 billion in assets. Initially recruited by the Chairman and CEO to create an integrated strategic corporate affairs department, over the course of her 23-year career at the company, she innovatively transformed the group, building an enterprise-wide regulatory, government and community relations team and redefining communications processes and strategic philanthropy.
Frances conceived of and implemented the first ever corporate marketing department and launched the corporate brand’s first campaign. She was responsible for the energy markets policy department. She guided all operational issues and projects through external approvals and stakeholder interactions.
Frances worked closely with the Board, Chairman and CEO and ensured seamless leadership transitions for three Con Edison Chairmen and CEOs who had been promoted internally. Frances helped direct the policies of the company through her work on the corporate leadership team as well as the senior strategy, financial oversight, diversity and inclusion, risk, cyber, ethics and ESG oversight committees.
Boards
Frances will continue to serve on the boards of Con Edison’s Clean Energy Businesses and Con Edison Transmission. She serves as a Gubernatorial appointee to the board of the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), a public benefit corporation. For decades, she has been deeply committed to her non-profit work and currently serves on the boards of the Alfred E. Smith Foundation, the Association for a Better New York (ABNY) and its foundation, and the New York State League of Conservation Voters.
Education
Frances is Director Certified by the National Association of Corporate Directors and the Corporate Board Academy. She is a Northwestern University Kellogg Scholar and has completed their Women Directors Program. She also holds a Certificate of Professional Development from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. She is a Rockefeller Fellow, New York City’s preeminent civic leadership program for senior corporate executives. She holds a B.A. in Government and Politics from St. John’s University.
