Renewables

  • Air-Source Heat Pump Participating Installers [PDF] - Air-source heat pumps use the difference between outdoor and indoor air temperatures to keep your home a comfortable temperature all year round. Recent technology advancements in air-source heat pumps have made them a strong alternative for space heating in colder regions like New York State. In homes heating with oil and propane air-source heat pumps can save money on energy bills and lower your carbon footprint.

Understanding how the Solar Electric (PV) Incentive Program works and the importance of choosing and working with a certified, eligible installer are key factors to successfully installing a PV system.

  • Solar Hot Water (Solar Thermal) Installers -  Eligible Installers are those who have demonstrated technical competence in the Solar Thermal field and who have signed written agreements with NYSERDA.
  • Small Wind Turbine Installers - Eligible installers have been selected based on their experience installing wind systems, training, education, and recommendations from past customers. Installer performance will be continually monitored through inspections, customer feedback, and ability to meet all program terms and conditions.
  • CHP Pre-Approved Vendors [PDF] - Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Vendors pre-qualified under RFI 2568 act as a single point-of-responsibility for CHP projects. Vendors submit applications under PON2568 on behalf of site representatives, contract with NYSERDA, and provide a minimum 5-year maintenance/warranty agreement on the selected CHP system.
  • Renewable Heat New York Contractors - RHNY Biomass Boiler installers are qualified to install eligible cordwood boiler and wood pellet boiler systems. Pellet stove installers have different qualifications than cordwood or wood pellet boiler installers and are qualified to install eligible pellet stoves. 
  • Ground Source Heat Pump Rebate Contractors - Participating contractors can install a ground source heat pump system and submit all paperwork to NYSERDA for your rebate.

  • Clean Energy Community Coordinators - Clean Energy Community Coordinators provide free technical assistance and consulting services to local governments participating in the Clean Energy Communities program. Contact the Coordinator in your region for more information or to get started.
  • Energy Modeling Partners - The commercial new construction program relies on Energy Modeling Partners to engage with building owners and design teams to achieve energy-efficient, deep energy savings, zero-net-energy or zero-net-capable projects.
  • FlexTech Consultant - NYSERDA's FlexTech Program provides New York State commercial, industrial, institutional, government, and not-for-profit sectors with objective and customized information to help customers make informed energy decisions.
  • Community Energy Resource (Constituency Based Organizations) - A Community Energy Resource is one of 12 constituency-based organizations that can help homeowners, small businesses, not-for-profit organizations, and multifamily building owners to cut energy waste, save money, and live or work more comfortably.
  • Small Commercial Energy Efficiency Lenders - NYSERDA works with lenders across New York State to offer small businesses, not-for-profits and multifamily building owners access to low-interest financing for energy efficiency improvements.

Once improvements have been identified they can even do the work.
  • New York ENERGY STAR® Certified Home Builder - New York ENERGY STAR Certified Home Builders can provide homeowners with comfortable, durable, environmentally friendly homes that are cost-effective to own and operate through the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program.
  • Compact Fluorescent Lighting (CFL) Recycling Centers - Careful recycling of CFLs prevents the release of mercury into the environment and allows for the reuse of glass, metals and other materials that make up CFLs. NYSERDA recommends that consumers take advantage of available local recycling options for CFLs.
  • Home Energy Systems (HERS) Rater - HERS Raters provide energy-efficiency strategies and test for new residential construction. They offer two major types of services: technical assistance to builders and conduction HERS ratings.

  • Multifamily Building Solutions Network (Existing Buildings)   - NYSERDA’s Multifamily Building Solutions Network consists of recognized quality businesses that provide energy efficiency services to multifamily existing buildings. Providers offer energy solutions ranging from individual upgrades to fully customized plans.
  • Multifamily Performance Partner (New Construction) - The Multifamily Performance Program relies on an approved network of building performance specialists who have demonstrated the ability to provide a range of energy and operational services for multifamily new construction.
