New York’s Path to Decarbonization: State Climate Leadership Under the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act

This seminar will present perspectives on New York State’s path to achieving the ambitious climate and clean energy goals codified by the recently enacted Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). As Co-Chair of the newly formed Climate Action Council, NYSERDA will play a leading role in helping the State fulfill the aggressive decarbonization mandates under the legislation. NYSERDA’s President and CEO, Alicia Barton, will provide an overview of New York State’s leadership efforts to date, share case studies on technologies like offshore wind, solar, energy efficiency, and energy storage, and discuss the State’s pursuit of a zero-carbon electric grid by 2040 and a carbon neutral economy by 2050.
