NYS Energy & Environment Experience Returns to the State Fair

Concerts, rides, and butter sculptures—the New York State Fair returns to Syracuse from August 26 to September 7. NYSERDA is joining the festivities to showcase New York's latest clean energy developments and progress toward the state's clean energy transition.

Fairgoers can snap a photo at our electric school bus selfie station, enter to win clean energy prizes, and get their clean energy questions answered by the NYSERDA team.

NYS Energy & Environment Experience Exhibits

New York State is working toward a clean energy transition that prioritizes environmental protection, energy affordability, and growing economic opportunities, and the collective efforts behind that work will be on display at the Center of Progress Building . NYSERDA, New York Power Authority (NYPA), Canal Corporation, Department of Public Service (DPS), and the Department of Environmental Conservation are showcasing their work to transform New York for a more sustainable future through interactive activities and educational exhibits.

Fairgoers can explore a range of sustainability topics, including solar energy, building decarbonization, grid resilience, and ecotourism on New York's canal system. Interactive exhibits include:

• DPS invites fairgoers to test their knowledge of utility services and win a prize.
• NYS Canals will demonstrate how the locks on the Erie Canal operate and support New York's tourism industry.
• DEC is bringing living trees into the exhibit area with "advice from a tree" signs offering arbor-inspired insights via haiku poems.

NYSERDA will be in attendance for the full 13-day celebration, running from August 26 to September 7, at the Center of Progress Building. The NYS Energy & Environment Experience is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
