The Challenge
From homes to high-rises, buildings across New York State consume 67% of the State’s total energy—and nearly 80% were built before modern energy codes, resulting in inefficiencies in heating and cooling. With six million buildings contributing to roughly a third of statewide emissions, improving building energy performance is essential in meeting the State’s goals of reducing emissions.
