compliance began in 2024, under this groundbreaking law, most buildings over 25,000 square feet are required to meet GHG emissions limits which are reported annually, with stricter limits coming into effect in 2030. Flex Tech: Get an energy study of your building at 50-75% cost share that will identify and evaluate opportunities to reduce energy costs as well as identify low carbon, energy saving upgrades and incorporate clean energy into your capital planning.
Integrated Physical Needs Assessment (IPNA): Conduct an evaluation of your affordable multifamily building that assesses the existing condition combining energy, health, and water needs into a holistic picture. Use the IPNA to fulfill the funding requirements of one of the NYS affordable housing agencies preservation programs and build a robust capital improvement plan for your property.
Receive Incentives for High Performance Equipment Installations
NYSERDA Incentives
- NY-Sun: Receive a per watt through a NY-Sun approved contractor when you install a solar system on your property. Affordable properties can receive additional incentives.
Utility Incentives
- AMEEP (New York State Affordable Multifamily Energy Efficiency Program): Affordable housing properties can receive incentives for the installation of a single energy saving upgrade or a comprehensive set of upgrades. Program is jointly run by NYSERDA and utilities.
- NYS Clean Heat Program: Receive incentives for the installation of energy efficient heat pumps for space heating and cooling, and/or domestic hot water in multifamily buildings. Program is jointly run by NYSERDA and utilities.
- Check with your local utility for additional incentives and technical assistance for market-rate and affordable properties.
