    To meet Renewable Energy Standard (RES) load serving entity obligations, eligible generators can produce Tier 1 renewable energy credits (RECs) in the New York Generation Attribute Tracking System (NYGATS).

  • Tier 2 – Maintenance Resources
    Eligible generators include run-of-river hydroelectric facilities of 5 MWs or less, wind turbines, and direct combustion biomass facilities. Biomass facilities must also meet the fuel source requirements for Tier 1 .
