New Efficient Homes New York provides a suite of residential offerings to strengthen New York’s support for new construction housing projects at every stage of development. The program helps designers, developers, and home builders incorporate energy efficient designs and high performing systems at scale.

Two New Program Offerings

Two new offerings within New Efficient Homes New York are the Heat Pump Incentive and Enhanced Design Support. New Efficient Homes New York, alongside The Buildings of Excellence Competition, works to build market capacity across designers, builders, developers, and contractors to deliver high-performance new homes. All programs are available to buildings located across New York State, including on Long Island and in areas served by municipal utilities/cooperatives.

Purpose: Statewide open enrollment program providing direct funding to design partners for early-stage clean, resilient, and high-performance design support.

Eligible Applicant: Architecture, Engineering, Design Firms, Single Family, Small Home Builders, and Developers

Building Typology: Residential new construction including single family, small homes, and multifamily buildings in the early design phase.

Purpose: Statewide open enrollment program providing direct incentives for installing high efficiency, cold climate air source heat pumps (ASHP) and ground source heat pumps (GSHP).

Eligible Applicant: Single Family, Small Home Builders, Developers, and Multifamily Developers

Building Typology: Residential new construction including single family, small homes, and multifamily buildings under 50,000 square feet in the construction phase.
