GJGNY Advisory Council
The Advisory Council was established pursuant to the Green Jobs – Green New York Act which was signed into law on October 9, 2009.
The Advisory Council generally meets, at minimum, once per year but will hold additional meetings as needed to discuss significant program changes or in response to Advisory Council requests. Advisory Council meetings are open to the public and documentation of the meetings are posted on NYSERDA’s website.
The Advisory Council consists of nine ex-officio members and 16 appointed members as set forth below. Members represent constituency-based community groups; consumer advocates on utility and housing issues; community-based workforce development groups; unions, including building trades and property services; home performance contractors; large-scale construction contractors; and investment market experts. The members serve without compensation but are allowed the necessary and actual expenses incurred in the performance of their duties. There have been no payments of expenses to members in any fiscal year since the Council was established.
NYSERDA may pursue changes and additions to the Advisory Council to include expertise and knowledge to expand the stakeholder involvement and effectiveness of GJGNY programs.
