* Even if a particular project in a NY Prize Opportunity Zone is ultimately not selected as a final award recipient under NY Prize, the information developed as a result of the process may help guide communities towards State energy programs and market solutions resulting in cleaner and more affordable energy, and stronger, more resilient communities across New York.
A bonus incentive under NYSERDA PON 2568 is currently available to promote the installation of clean, efficient, and commercially available Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems with an aggregate nameplate less than or equal to 3 megawatts (MW) that provide summer on-peak demand reduction. CHP Systems may receive up to a 10% bonus incentive above the base incentive for those projects serving Critical Infrastructure, including Facilities of Refuge. For more information, see PON-2568-Combined-Heat-and-Power-Program

New York State utilities have identified regions within their service territories where new solar electric power generation systems are expected to provide added value to the electric distribution system. For projects in these utility identified Strategic Locations, NYSERDA provides an additional 20% increase above the base incentive level in effect at the time the application is approved. This increased incentive is only available for solar photovoltaic projects identified at the time of application as being sited at a strategic location and such location must be confirmed by the utility. The Strategic Locations are being finalized by the utilities and once established can be found via the NY-Sun webpage.
