Project Description
1931 Lafayette - North Tower will be an all-electric, new construction development located within a New York State designated disadvantaged community in the Castle Hill/Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx. The building will comprise 228 units across a 21-story 187,325 square foot building, including 60% (137 units) set aside as permanent supportive housing and 90 apartments that are income-restricted to residents earning up to 60% of AMI. Designed to Enterprise Green Communities and Passive House Institute standards, the project will utilize a high performance envelope, solar photovoltaic system, unitized package terminal heat pumps and a centralized energy recovery ventilator. Amenities to residents will include childcare, bike storage, exercise room, community room, laundry room, mail room, outdoor recreational space, a bus stop onsite and a 3,500 square foot social services office operated by the Center for Urban Community Services (CUCS).
