Project Description

153 Nevins Street, located within a New York State designated disadvantaged community, will deliver 70 units within a 10-story, 76,364 square foot development providing resilient, sustainable, and equitable affordable housing in New York City. Designed to Passive House certification standards, the project will feature a high-performance envelope with triple pane windows, solar photovoltaic system with battery storage, black-water source heat pump and a centralized energy recovery ventilation system. The project will also include bioswales and green roof terraces for rainwater management while providing a community space for residents to enjoy. Through partnership with Parsons Healthy Materials Lab and Brooklyn Workforce Innovations (BWI), the project advances healthier, low-carbon materials including non-acrylic paints, natural linoleum flooring, and Red List Free finishes, while also creating local jobs.
