- NYPA's Smart Street Lighting NY and the Smart City Technology Grant Program
The New York Power Authority (NYPA) provides local governments with full turnkey LED street light conversion services including: lighting audit; engineering and design; bidding and procurement; construction management; and environmental services. NYPA provides low rate financing for qualified customers, including the option to finance the purchase of the system as part of the project. NYPA offers the option to bundle your streetlight conversion project with other energy efficiency projects. NYPA's Smart City Technology Grant Program is also available to help communities to improve public safety and operational efficiency.
- LED Street Light Conversion in New York
This report, developed by the NYSERDA-supported Mid-Hudson Street Light Consortium (MHSC), explains the options available to local governments for upgrading to LED street lights, and describes and assesses the costs and advantages of different ownership models and financial strategies. The final chapter suggests steps for implementing an LED street light project. Additional tools and resources can be found on the MHSC website. While the MHSC project focused mainly on communities in the Mid-Hudson region, many of the resulting tools and resources are applicable across the state.
