Electric vehicles (EVs) save money and reduce air pollution. Compared to gasoline-powered cars, EVs are more energy efficient and cost about 50 to 70 percent less to operate per mile. Charge NY is helping the State get ready to accommodate up to 1 million plug-in electric vehicles by 2025. To support these new electric vehicles, up to 10,000 EV charging stations will be installed across the State by 2021.
