About the Clean Mobility Program Planning Track

Under the Clean Mobility Program Planning Track, NYSERDA provided funding to Eligible Entities to plan for zero-emission mobility solutions. Funding for the Planning Track was only available under Round 1 of the Program which closed in August 2024.

The Planning Track was designed to help Eligible Entities assess local transportation needs, identify potential clean mobility solutions, and lay the groundwork for project implementation. Applicants did not need to have a transportation solution identified to apply. A total of 29 applicants were awarded funding up to $100,000 each, with no cost-share requirement.

Planning Track Outcomes & Demonstration Readiness

All Planning Track projects are required to complete the following tasks:

• Community engagement
• Site identification and operations assessment
• Identification of project partners
• Technical feasibility analysis
• Policy and regulatory feasibility analysis

Planning Track projects that can complete the above tasks in approximately six months will have an opportunity to apply for Round 2 Demonstration Track project funding.

Planning Support

To support Eligible Entities in completing the necessary tasks under Round 1 of the Planning Track, NYSERDA organized a group of pre-approved list of planning firms (selected under RFQL 5625) that awardees could partner with. Alternatively, awardees could choose to work with their own planning partners to complete the project.
