Clean Mobility Program Demonstration Track Awards

Under Round 1 of the Clean Mobility Program Demonstration Track, three projects totaling over $7.5M were awarded funding to deploy innovative mobility solutions in New York State communities. These projects will enhance access to zero-emission transportation options and improve connections to transit, jobs, and community destinations.

In December 2025, $3 million was awarded to the New York City Department of Transportation. On March 12, 2026, NYSERDA announced more than $4.5 million in additional funding for projects led by the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) and Westchester County.

Together, these three Round 1 projects will launch a range of clean mobility solutions to improve transportation access, particularly in disadvantaged communities in Downstate New York.

Additional details on Round 2 of the Clean Mobility Program Demonstration Track will be announced in the second half of 2026. Please visit this web page periodically for updates.

Metropolitan Transportation Authority

Commuter Rail Station Secure Bicycle Parking Pilot

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will pilot secure bicycle parking shelters at eight commuter rail stations across the Metro-North Railroad and Long Island Rail Road networks. These shelters will give riders app-based access to safe, enclosed bike parking, making it easier and more secure to bike to the train. By improving the experience of bringing a bike to the station, the project aims to strengthen first- and last-mile connections to rail service and make transit more accessible for riders in underserved communities.

  • Mobility Types: First/last-mile mobility, Bicycle infrastructure and access
  • Project Location: Hudson Valley and Long Island
  • Award Amount: $1.5M+
