Statement from Doreen M. Harris, President and CEO, NYSERDA on Multistate Litigation Co-led by AG James Challenging U.S. Department of Transportation's Illegal Attacks on Electric Vehicles
May 7, 2025
“New York State is resolute in challenging the Trump Administration's decisions that undermine a more efficient transportation system, which includes the nationwide buildout of an interconnected network of electric vehicle chargers needed to meet growing consumer demand. The administration’s latest roadblock will irreparably harm the U.S. auto industry’s ability to capitalize on the advantages of a domestic supply chain to maintain progress and competitiveness in a global market that is already rapidly accelerating toward an electric future.
New York is committed to economic policies that safeguard U.S. manufacturing and fast-track investment in our transportation infrastructure, even as the Federal government abdicates its responsibility to do so. I stand with Attorney General James, Governor Hochul, New York State Department of Transportation Commissioner Dominguez and other states in taking this legal action to protect consumers’ choice now and for future generations.”
