New York State Programs & Incentives

C&I Carbon Challenge—Competition for large businesses (with a 12-month average electricity demand of 10 MW) to unlock highly cost-effective carbon reduction opportunities. NYSERDA will award up to $10 million, ranging from $2 million to $5 million per successful proposal. Awardees will continue to work with NYSERDA to update, refine, and implement their carbon reduction strategies over three years. Learn more.

Energy Storage—Technical assistance and funding opportunities for implementing an energy storage system. Learn more.

Fuel Cell (Stationary) Program—Financial incentives of up to $1 million to support new installations of stationary fuel systems. To qualify, the nameplate capacity must be greater than 25 kW with an intended operating capacity factor of 50 percent or greater. Learn more.

New York State Solar Tax Credits—State tax credits and accelerated depreciation on the cost of installation. Learn more.

NY-Sun—Financial incentives and financing to offset the cost of purchasing and installing a solar system for your business. NYSERDA is also providing $350 per kWh of energy storage capacity. Learn more.

Distributed Generation Rebates—Rebates offset the cost of a feasibility study to see whether a combined heat and power or fuel cell system is right for a business. Qualifying combined heat and power projects are eligible for up to $2 million in rebates, and qualifying fuel cell projects are eligible for up to $1 million in rebates. Federal Solar Tax Credits—Federal tax credits for 30 percent of qualified expenditures for purchasing and installing a solar power system. This will decrease to 26 percent at the end of 2019. Learn more.
