Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Systems
Solar PV systems convert sunlight directly into electricity, which can then be used in your home. The system is connected to your electrical service panel and the grid, and produces electricity anytime the sun is shining. If your system generates more electricity than you use, you’ll receive a credit from your utility provider. It’s a process known as net metering, but you’ll come to think of it as simple savings. Solar Thermal (Hot Water) Technology
Solar thermal technology uses the sun's energy to heat water. A typical system consists of roof-mounted solar collectors, which heat water to a certain temperature. The hot water is then stored in your home's existing electric hot water tank, ready for you to use.
