Transition to Zero-Emission Vehicles
Battery-electric. Plug-in hybrid. Hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. All these zero-emission vehicles (ZEVs) are charging New York toward a sustainable transportation system. Converting from gas-powered vehicles also improves air quality and provides financial savings on fuel and maintenance costs.
New York will require 100% ZEV sales for non-road vehicles by 2035 and medium- and heavy-duty vehicles by 2040. Businesses, public entities, and institutions can access incentives and technical assistance to convert their fleet and install charging and hydrogen fuel stations.
