New Carbon Neutral Opportunity Now Available: Requests for Qualifications
RetrofitNY is continuing to make progress in transforming how affordable multifamily properties are renovated in New York State. To help achieve this goal, we’re collaborating with a variety of industry stakeholders who will help New Yorkers benefit.
RetrofitNY has released three Requests for Qualifications (RFQLs) to build a pool of candidates for upcoming carbon neutral demonstration pilots. Candidates qualified through these RFQLs will be able to apply for funding for a carbon neutral retrofit project when they form a project team with other qualified candidates.
Applicants will be able to submit to more than one RFQL if desired, so we encourage applicants to explore all RFQLs to understand how the three work together. RetrofitNY will also be offering informational webinars for each RFQL.
Affordable housing multifamily building owners (RFQL 4552)
If you have buildings that satisfy the criteria for RetrofitNY, consider applying to our RFQL to be qualified as an Affordable Housing Multifamily Building Owner and get your properties qualified as pilot candidates. Owners qualified under this RFQL will be eligible to submit buildings for approval into the RetrofitNY pilot building pool. Buildings selected as pilot candidates will be eligible to work with prequalified design teams and apply for RetrofitNY gap funding.
Component manufacturers (RFQL 4551)
The market potential for carbon neutral retrofits in multifamily residential buildings is continuously growing with ambitious climate goals and stricter limits on building carbon emissions. This expanding market is a great opportunity for component manufacturers to develop new, higher performance building retrofit components that solve the needs of building owners.
By disrupting the existing sales channels and working directly with solution providers to deliver whole building retrofit solutions to the market, manufacturers are able to lower sales costs due to fewer intermediaries between the manufacturer and the end user.
Solution providers (RFQL 4553)
The market potential for carbon neutral retrofits in multifamily residential buildings is continuously growing with ambitious climate goals and stricter limits on building carbon emissions. This expanding market is a great opportunity for solution providers who are looking to enter the carbon neutral retrofit space.
By working directly with manufacturers and building owners, solution providers can deliver whole building retrofit products and services that address unmet needs of building owners, and a business model with efficiencies that are currently unavailable to competitors.
