Become a Participating Contractor for Residential/Small Commercial MW Block

NYSERDA relies on trained contractors to implement new grid-connected solar electric systems for customers seeking incentives though the NY-Sun Incentive Program. Interested qualified installers may apply to become Participating Contractors at any time while the program is open.

The Residential/Small Commercial category of projects includes solar electric systems that are less than 200 kW. Applicants to become Participating Contractors in this category must:

Fulfill one of three following credentialing paths:

    1. NABCEP Certification (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) PV Installation Professional Certification
    2. IBEW-NECA Electrical Journeyman & Apprentice Training (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and National Electrical Contractors Association)
    3. UL (Underwriters Labs) PV System Installation Certification

For complete details on specific requirements and apply to the program:

Read the Residential/Small Commercial Program Manual for complete details

Consider the option to prequalify as a Solarize Contractor.
