Become a Builder of New York ENERGY STAR® Certified Homes

Whether you are ready to expand your business or start a new one, partnering with NYSERDA and choosing to build New York ENERGY STAR Certified Homes can give the support you need to succeed. Follow the steps below to become a Builder in the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program. By becoming a participating builder you can receive support for all projects types included in the Program.

Step 2: Download and read the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program Partnership Agreement [PDF], which outlines essential details regarding each builder's business partnership with NYSERDA.

Step 3: Download and read the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program Builder Requirements [PDF].

Step 4: Partner with a Home Energy Rater. They are here to ensure you meet program requirements on every construction project. Use our Rater Locator Map to find one near you. 

Step 5: Partner with an HVAC contractor credentialed by an HVAC Quality Installation Training and Oversight Organization (H-QUITO). Find an affiliated HVAC Contractor:

Step 6: Download the Low-rise Residential New Construction Program Builder Signature Form [PDF] and complete it electronically; then print, sign, and submit the completed form to NYSERDA. Once we've approved partnership, you will be listed as a New York ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Builder on our website.

Step 7: View the summary of the incentives offered to Builders.
