Renewable Heat NY Boiler Contractors

 

To qualify for a Renewable Heat NY financial incentive, the system must be installed by a contractor who has demonstrated technical competence in the design and installation of high-efficiency, low-emission wood heating equipment. Installers must have at least two years of relevant experience and have completed manufacturer’s training for the boiler brand they are installing. At least one individual from the company or firm must have successfully completed Renewable Heat NY biomass training or other NYSERDA-approved training.

This presentation is used for a full day design-focused workshop that examines best practices for combining modern, high efficiency wood-fired boilers with hydronic distribution systems. It covers the operating characteristics of wood-gasification boilers, pellet-fired boilers, and wood-chip boilers and the latest hydronic heating technology that can complement these high efficiency heat sources. The hydronic topics covered include low temperature heat emitters, high efficiency circulators, modern control techniques, and options for water-based thermal storage.
