Become a Participating EmPower New York Appliance Vendor
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is seeking appliance vendors for the EmPower New York Program to deliver and install energy-efficient refrigerators and freezers to households deemed eligible for appliance replacements. EmPower New York offers no-cost energy efficiency services to low-income (such as HEAP-eligible) homeowners and renters.
As an EmPower New York Appliance Vendor, your company will have access to a new stream of customers utilizing the Program’s ordering and invoicing online platform. Maintain or expand your delivery territory by designating which counties in New York State you will serve.
While NYSERDA accepts appliance vendors in all regions, currently, NYSERDA is seeking appliance vendors in the following regions:
Capital Region — Albany, Columbia, Greene, Hamilton, Rensselaer, Saratoga,
Schenectady, Warren, Washington
Central — Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego Finger Lakes — Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, Yates
North Country — Jefferson, Lewis
Southern Tier — Chemung, Schuyler, Steuben
Western NY — Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie, Niagara
Acceptance as an Appliance Vendor is determined based on regional needs.
What is expected of an appliance vendor?
- Sign an agreement with NYSERDA
- Accept appliance orders from NYSERDA for eligible customers
- Deliver and install new base model energy-efficient refrigerators and freezers
- Remove and recycle old appliances
- Provide invoices directly to NYSERDA for payment
- Provide a one-year warranty for labor and materials

Read the current EmPower New York Appliance Vendor Agreement in its entirety. To apply for participation, you will need to download, complete, sign, and submit the EmPower New York Appliance Vendor Agreement Form, Price List Form, up-to-date insurance certificates, and W-9. Submit your application materials to firstname.lastname@example.org.
