Summer Intern: Office of the President & CEO - New York City Office

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, known as NYSERDA, promotes energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy sources. These efforts are key to developing a less polluting and more reliable and affordable energy system for all New Yorkers. Collectively, NYSERDA’s efforts aim to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, accelerate economic growth, and reduce customer energy bills.

This is a paid internship for current, matriculated students.  Students are allowed to work up to 37.5 hours per week in between semesters, when not attending class.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Working with the Office of the President & CEO to coordinate materials and assisting in project management, including the tracking of high priority initiatives for NYSERDA
  • Assisting in managing communications, and stakeholder/public engagement amongst NYSERDA’s highest priority renewable energy projects
  • Assisting in managing New York’s portfolio as a member of the U.S. Climate Alliance, including researching, drafting and developing internal and external materials relating to state-level emissions inventory and the U.S. Climate Alliance Clearinghouse
  • Perform other tasks as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current full-time student, pursuing associate, bachelor, or master degree
  • Project management skillset, including attention to detail, organization, and proactive nature
  • Skill in managing multiple activities, delivering on commitments, and operating with speed, accuracy, and strong judgment
  • Strong writing ability
  • Demonstrated ability to research and synthesize
  • Strong work ethic
  • Excellent skills with the Microsoft Office suite of programs
