Job Overview

NYSERDA is searching for a Recruiting Specialist with previous Renewables recruiting experience to focus on recruiting and building talent acquisition strategies for sourcing, selection and hiring processes, and capabilities within our dynamic Human Resources Organization.

You will be expected to work directly with senior leaders in multiple NYSERDA locations, partner well across operational groups in different locations, and drive quality hires for hard-to-fill roles at all levels. We are seeking a proactive recruiter, who likes to work in a collaborative environment which rewards people who can flex when you need to flex and stand firm when it's the right thing to do.

This position impacts the organization in a significant way each day and you will be involved in implementing recruiting strategies to bring the recruitment process to the next level serving many agendas and timelines. You will be involved in driving best in class processes and fully utilize the ADP recruiting module while advancing the recruitment and hiring processes consistently along the way and you will do it all during a time of NYSERDA’s significant growth.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Drives the sourcing, assessment, and selection strategies at functional division, department, and site levels; works independently to guide, enforce, and adapt hiring strategies to fill roles at all levels within a respective department (regardless of business unit); partners with the HR and DEI offices to analyze current strategies, design and implement higher impact strategies; recommends new candidate sources and candidate generation programs/models. May attend and participate in researching/developing and delivering training to identify strategy-gaps and hiring priorities at team meetings
  • Spends significant time as recruiting lead working on high priority hires. Recruits top talent for NYSERDA with an enthusiastic and positive attitude
  • You may project-manage process recruitment improvement efforts for the team; may own the development and monitoring of key recruiting team metrics
  • Takes a lead role in identifying, developing, and deploying training for managers, committee interviewers and HR teams and support services
  • Monitors and identifies trends associated with KPI's and Reporting. Collaborates with internal resources to identify root causes and best practices to develop appropriate action plans. Provides the Director of HR metrics for the recruitment function (e.g., time to fill etc.)
  • Works with managers on creative ways to continually enhance the applicant and candidate experience
  • Directly sources for and carries active requisition activity across a variety of NYSERDA program units. Generates and manages a strong candidate pipeline through creative resourcing for specific vacancies, meeting the recruitment needs of NYSERDA
  • Helps support sourcing strategy for business units to meet the need of current and future roles they are working on, ensuring quality, cost effectiveness and speed
  • Delivers briefings to Hiring Managers and helps Hiring Managers write job descriptions where needed; setting and managing interviews, setting expectations regarding timescales, and educating them on the marketplace and what is available
  • Assists managers when needed for resume screening, interviewing and offers
  • Effectively utilizes the applicant tracking and reporting systems
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 5 years' experience as senior and professional level recruiter and training in recruiting, executive search methodologies, and sourcing. Previous recruitment of Renewables disciplines preferred
  • Skilled at sourcing, assessment, and closing tactics and strategies. Strong candidate management skills who is customer focused and quality driven in assignment delivery
  • Expertise in recruiting a variety of program-related roles (emphasis in solar, wind, clean energy, or large-scale renewables a plus) and disciplines with strong agency or in-house recruitment experience
  • Experience using Microsoft Office (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) as well as 365OS and applicant tracking software
  • Ability to solve problems independently and deliver results in an ever-changing environment with strong communication and customer management skills
  • Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize based on the needs of Hiring Managers
  • Successfully balance the demands of the multiple divisions and locations
  • This key role requires someone with good recruiting transformation experience in a shared service HR department
  • The successful candidate will have good people development skills and be a driven self-starter with a strong passion for your work
  • Excellent time and workload management skills with ability to prioritize

Salary

The salary range is $57,818 - $88,553. Candidates will be considered based on qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is offered.
