Job Overview

NYSERDA seeks a SharePoint Developer to join our highly nimble team of Information Technology professionals dedicated to delivering high quality project deliverables through thorough and thoughtful planning as well as consultation with a wide variety of users. The SharePoint Developer is responsible for designing, coding, testing, and maintaining SharePoint implementations supporting the business teams. This position requires a solid level of technical skills in the programming languages and technologies that the specific position requires.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Designs and develops SharePoint solutions to meet business needs
  • Investigates problem areas and fixes bugs in SharePoint environment
  • Follows the software development lifecycle
  • Documents and demonstrates solutions by developing documentation, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
  • Develops test scripts and runs tests to verify deliverables meet the documented requirements before sending to QA
  • Participates in peer review of code developed by fellow engineers
  • Maintains Users and proper security levels for all users
  • Develops reports and dashboards
  • Helps to develop and implement training for users
  • Provides help and support for internal and external users
  • Maintains a high level of service by establishing and enforcing organization standards including secure coding practices, use of source control, and coding standards
  • Participates in daily standups to review work assignments and report on progress
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; bench-marking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies
  • Understand and adhere to NYSERDA’s policies and procedures
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to read specifications and execute solutions that meet those specifications
  • Understanding of relational databases and data integration tools
  • 3+ years developing SharePoint Online sites, subsites and document libraries
  • 3+ years designing and maintaining permission structures for SharePoint objects
  • 3+ years working with SharePoint Online site collections
  • 3+ years experience with workflow ticketing systems such as Jira
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Close attention to detail
  • 3+ years experience with programming languages such as SQL, JavaScript, HTML, Powershell scripting, and Power Automate
  • An Associate’s degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant SharePoint certifications
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science or other STEM related major and 1-3 years of experience
  • Experience with automated testing tools
  • Experience with Sharegate
  • Experience in a DevOps or Continuous Integration / Continuous Development (CICD) environment

Salary

The salary range is $71,685 – $120,156. Candidates will be considered based on qualifications and experience. An excellent benefits package is offered.
