Salesforce Developer - Albany Office (#458)

The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) seeks a creative, self-motivated and experienced individual as a Salesforce Developer. The position will be part of a highly nimble team of professionals dedicated to high quality project deliverables. The Salesforce Developer plays a vital role in developing solutions and enhancements with other members of the Salesforce team. The successful candidate will be an instrumental team member and key advocate for intelligent and efficient usage of the platform, blending strong development skills, technical acumen, and exceptional communication skills to work with a wide array of users.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Customizing and developing objects, fields, record types, page layouts, Apex Classes, Visualforce pages, triggers, etc.
  • Working with management, business SMEs and end users to create and manage complex workflow rules, data validation and triggers
  • Managing integrations including, but not limited to, PeopleSoft and SQL Server Data Warehouse
  • Configuring user profiles, role hierarchy, sharing rules, and security
  • Applying future Salesforce releases and enhancements and proactively communicating feature set changes and enhancements with an eye to minimizing end-user adoption barriers
  • Providing help and support for internal and external users
  • Creating and maintaining technical design documentation
  • Creating test plans
  • Testing Apex code & Visualforce pages
  • Effectively communicating, collaborating and problem solving with relevant stakeholders
  • Identifying, documenting, mitigating, and managing risk on projects
  • Fostering and contributing to a culture of excellence grounded in people development, learning, problem solving, and teamwork
  • Promoting solutions which leverage configuration, re-use of existing functionality and flexibility over customization
  • Performing other responsibilities as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 2 years relevant work experience as a Salesforce Developer or a .Net Developer
  • Demonstrated success developing complex applications utilizing Salesforce / products using Apex, Visualforce and SOQL or Microsoft .Net applications
  • The ability to size and estimate technology needs with alacrity and accuracy
  • Great resourcefulness and an instinct for surfacing value and low-cost pragmatic solutions
  • Experience with web services (SOAP or REST)
  • Strong HTML, JQuery and CSS experience
  • Experience managing production updates / releases
  • Understanding of relational databases and data integration tools
  • Presentation and interpersonal skills that resonate with non-technologists and technologists alike; the ability to communicate persuasively, concisely, and unambiguously in speech and in writing, and flexibility when working in a fast-paced environment

Preference will be given to individuals who possess

  • Experience with DBAmp
  • Salesforce Certified Developer credentials
  • Microsoft Certified Developer credentials
