Become a Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Installer
NYSERDA provides incentives for the installation of new grid-connected solar photovoltaic (pv) systems. NYSERDA is accepting applications to become an Eligible Installer through Program Opportunity Notice (PON) 2112.
Certification
Requirements
Education and years of service are determining factors in becoming an Eligible Installer.
- A candidate’s training should include a minimum of forty-hours (40-hours) of NABCEP-recognized PV entry-level courses to satisfy NABCEP’s Entry Level Exam requirements.
- Journey-level electricians who have had training provided by the Joint Apprentice Training Committee (JATC) or equivalent training also will be considered.
- Experienced Installers will be evaluated on past performance, responsibility within their firm or organization, installation experience, credentials, history, and customer satisfaction. References with verifiable contact information must be provided.
