Eligible Wind Turbines

For wind turbines to be eligible for incentives from NYSERDA, they must be reviewed and selected by NYSERDA. NYSERDA is a member of the Interstate Turbine Advisory Council (ITAC), established under the Clean Energy States Alliance. ITAC has created a Unified List of Wind Turbines, for turbines with a rotor swept area of less than 200 square meters (m2). PON 2439, the On-Site Wind Turbine Incentive Program, now requires turbines of this size to be on ITAC Unified List to be eligible for funding. This list is available at: http://www.cleanenergystates.org/projects/ITAC/list/ NYSERDA reserves the right to impose additional restrictions or relax ITAC’s requirements dependent on program needs.

For turbines with a rotor swept area of greater than 200 m2, PON 2439, provides the requirements for eligibility and an Eligible Wind Turbine Application Form. Only commercially available wind turbines with a proven record for power performance, reliability, safety, and acoustics will be considered for funding. Turbines with a nameplate rating of greater than two megawatts (2 MW) are not eligible for funding under PON 2439. The table below lists the wind turbines, in this size range, that are eligible for a NYSERDA incentive.
