Energy-Efficient Equipment Standards for State Purchasing
Article 5, Section 5-108a
of the New York State Laws directs NYSERDA to establish minimum efficiency standards for specific energy-using products and appliances purchased by or for the State or any of its agencies. (Click on "ENG", then "Article 5", then "5-108-A - Energy Efficient Appliances".)
NYSERDA established an Advisory Committee to provide input during the development of Energy-Efficient Equipment Standards for State Purchasing. The Advisory Committee consisted of representatives from industry, efficiency and environmental advocate organizations, and agencies subject to the standards.
