MALTA-The New York Slate Energy Research and Development Authority has awarded $180,000 to a Malta company that installs solar thermal systems.
The seven-person company, called The Radiant Store, will use the money to evaluate the performance of its solar thermal technology and to train new installers. NYSERDA will match $180,000 in private funding. Radiant’s thermal systems produce hot water and below-floor heat for homes. Radiant has sold 250 systems in the region.
GlobalFoundries official to address chamber event
COLONIE - Travis Bullard Global Foundries public affairs and communications manager will speak at a Rensselaer County Regional Chamber of Commerce event scheduled for next week. Bullard will speak Feb, 17 at a chamber lunch to be held at 11:30 am at The Century House on Route 9 in Latham.
The cost is $25 for members and $40 for nonmembers and walk-ins.

NYISO. Says it passed Industry reliability audit
NORTH GREENBUSH The New York Independent System Operator said Wednesday that it has passed a reliability audit conducted by the Northeast Power Coordinating Council. NYISO is a North Greenbush nonprofit that monitors the state’s electric transmission system and operates the wholesale electric market. The audit found NYISO was compliant with 38 reliability standards and 156 requirements of the North American Electric reliability Corp. The audit was conducted from Dec. 6 to Dec. 9 of last year.
