The NY Best Consortium (NY-BEST) is a not-for-profit market-driven consortium established in 2009-10 with NYSERDA seed funding and includes over 120 startup and established companies, utilities, end users, and research institutions working to build the energy storage sector in New York State.
NYS Smart Grid Consortium
The New York State Grid Consortium was founded in 2008 when leaders determined that meaningful progress required the inclusion of all stakeholders to define and work toward a common vision. The Consortium represents a key public-private partnership to promote broad statewide implementation of the smart grid.
The NY-Sun Initiative brings together and expands existing programs administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), Long Island Power Authority (LIPA), and the New York Power Authority (NYPA), to ensure a coordinated, well-funded solar energy expansion plan.

PON 2589 New York Sun Competitive PV Program
The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) is pleased to announce the New York Sun Competitive Photovoltaic (PV) Program, an expansion of the Renewable Portfolio Standard (RPS) Customer-Sited Tier Regional Program, to include Upstate New York. The New York Sun Competitive PV Program is part of the New York State (NYS) RPS Customer-Sited Tier Program. NYSERDA invites proposals for the installation of customer-sited PV projects in New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) load zones A through J and Renewable Biogas-fueled electric generation projects in NYISO load zones G through J. All systems must be greater than 50 kW. Complete proposals that demonstrate project viability and capability will be competitively selected based on their incentive bid in dollars per kilowatt hour ($/kWh). The Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) is an agreement among ten Northeastern and Mid-Atlantic States (Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont) to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from power plants.
