Green Residential Buildings Program
Building green homes takes affordable housing to the next level of performance while providing owners and residents more comfortable homes that cost less to operate, last longer, and provide a healthier living environment. As a builder of green homes, you will keep current with leading building techniques and gain valuable experience. Building green can give you a competitive edge in attracting customers while improving our environment as your buildings become more efficient, use less resources, and reduce their environmental impact.
Green homes use sustainable design and building materials to minimize the energy and environmental impact of the building. The design, construction, and operation of a green home must focus on energy and water efficiency, resource-efficient building design and materials, indoor air quality, and the home's overall impact on the environment into account.
The Green Residential Building Program (GRBP) offers incentives to building owners who can demonstrate that a residential building meets specific program requirements as outlined in the program overview and eligibility section below. The building owner is the person who holds title to the residential building on the date the Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Completion is issued. For purpose of this program, the owner may be the builder, the homeowner, a housing authority or other such organization.
GRBP offers incentives, ranging from $5,125 for a single-family home up to $13,375 for an 11-unit multifamily building, to building owners who demonstrate that a residential building meets specific program requirements as outlined below.
