Despite national trends in transportation that focused exclusively on accommodating motor vehicles, Buffalo’s commitment to improving bicycling conditions dates back to 1977, when the City’s first bike Master Plan was adopted. In recent years, the City has implemented recommendations included in these plans, inspired by a national shift away from constructing bigger, wider roads to developing complete streets designed for all roadway users.
