Service (USDA). The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation's Office of Climate Change is helping communities and individuals throughout to the state mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the potential consequences of climate change. Two bureaus within the office--Climate Science and Technology, and Climate Programs and Partnerships--have been created to realize these goals. Mitigation programs include efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, an emissions inventory and assessment, an evaluation of the feasibility of alternative fuels, cooperative money-saving solutions for governments, institutions, businesses, and individuals, and information on expected impacts of climate change.
