Fostering Clean Energy Market Growth

NYSERDA fosters growth in the clean energy market by supporting the “supply side” development of advanced energy technologies through its portfolio of research and development programs. These can provide technical and financial support, facilitate private-public research partnerships, and leverage the State’s established public institutions to grow existing clean energy firms and foster next generation businesses and technologies. NYSERDA has assisted the development of dozens of new clean energy products ranging from hybrid electric buses, to renewable energy systems and advanced building controls. NYSERDA is working with hundreds of clean tech businesses to develop new products and to help their companies grow in New York State, advance New York’s innovation economy, and position New York companies to provide new products in the global energy technology market.

NYSERDA’s Technology Development and Demonstration support develops and tests new products and technologies that have the potential to improve the energy efficiency and expand the energy options of the buildings, industrial process, transportation, power, and bio-energy sectors of the New York economy. Where needed, the results from this NYSERDA-sponsored work and other product and technology researchers are then further developed in focused steps leading to large-scale pre-deployment demonstrations of emerging technologies to accelerate their entry into the product market.
